Old and Antique China. By their nature these are single items or in limited supply and items are offered subject to remaining unsold.

We describe each item, giving maker and pattern, age, dimensions and shape etc. It is in excellent condition, unless we mention any defects. On older pieces minor glazing faults and crazing are common and are only mentioned if particularly noticeable.

New China. We hold large stocks for immediate despatch. However if any pieces you order are not immediately available we confirm receipt of your order and let you know the anticipated delivery date. Your card is not charged until we despatch your china.

We buy direct from the factory and china is brand new and first quality. We do not sell seconds.

New china is dishwasher and microwave safe. China with gilt or gold decoration should not be placed in either dishwasher or microwave.

As a permanent record of your purchase and written guarantee you will receive a Certificate of Provenance and Authenticity with each item over 50 years old, complete with an illustration and full description of the piece, and signed personally by a Director of Lovers of Blue and White.

For complete peace of mind you have our Guarantee of Satisfaction.

If anything you buy from Lovers of Blue & White does not meet your expectations you may return it to us within 30 days and we shall refund the cost of the china in full or, with your agreement, replace the item. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.

If the china is faulty, mis-described or damaged in transit we shall also refund the shipping charge and pay a similar amount to cover the cost of returning the china to us.

Please contact us by email or telephone before returning goods to tell us about the problem.

You can play at placing an order to find out for yourself how straight forward it is. It is just like using a shopping basket, you can add items, take them out or change the quantity. You may stop at any time. There is no obligation, until you finally click on the SUBMIT ORDER button right at the end.

Helpful tip. If you expect to order several items in the same pattern or similar pieces, look through the range available and make a note of items of interest before you start the order process. This will save you time.

There are 5 steps to the order process.

First select the items for your order by clicking on the tick box or typing the quantity required in the box. You may select one or any number of items on the same page. At the bottom of the page click on Add Selected Items to Order or Add to Order.

Second Review Order shows the contents of your shopping basket and you can check the cost, add or cancel items or change quantities. You can do this as many times as you like and clicking on Review Order above allows you to check progress at any stage.

Shipping? If you have registered on our site, the shipping charge to your address will appear automatically on Review Order. If you have not registered, click on Shipping and the table of charges will appear.

Helpful tip. To have the shipping calculated automatically from when you begin your order, ensure that you are registered on our site. Click on Register to check.

When you are happy with your order as shown on Review Order click on the button at the bottom of that page.

Third Register your personal details, name and address etc. If you have registered previously you can go direct to the fourth stage.

Fourth Payment Details, which is a secure site and you should see a little padlock in your tool bar and https in your address box. Enter your card or other payment details and any special delivery instructions.

Fifth When you are content everything is complete and correct click on SUBMIT ORDER. This will send your order to us securely encrypted to prevent anyone reading your card details. There is more information about secure ordering and payments under Payment and Security.

Our shipping charges are as follows:
 

United Kingdom	£7.50 per order
European Union	£15 basic charge plus £0.50 per piece (approx €22 plus €0.75 per piece)
USA and Canada	£20 basic charge plus £0.50 per piece (approx. US$40 plus $1 per piece)
Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Far East	£30 basic charge plus £1 per piece
Elsewhere	£40 basic charge plus £1 per piece

A few large or heavy items attract a shipping surcharge. This is quoted under “more details” for the relevant items.

Orders for china in stock are usually dispatched same day and typical delivery times are:

Shipping is usually by First Class post in the UK and computer tracked parcel mail elsewhere, so delivery is nearly always to your door. Parcels may require a signature on delivery.

The china travels at our risk, and in the rare event of damage we arrange prompt refund or replacement. Please retain china and packaging for inspection by our agents.

We complete all necessary Customs documentation, but any Customs dues and taxes are payable by the customer. In practice, our customers are rarely charged duty. Antique china is duty free in most countries.

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta, Eurocard or American Express. We charge your card in UK pounds and your card issuer bills you in your local currency: US dollars or whatever. Simple for both of us, with no exchange or conversion problems.

For your protection, details of your card number and expiry date will be encrypted before they are transmitted over the Internet. Your personal details remain completely undecipherable by anyone except us, and once we receive the information we keep it completely secure and delete the credit card details from our web server computer to prevent any unauthorised access.

Your credit card is not debited while you are still online. Your order is checked by a human being, not a computer and only when we are satisfied we can fulfill your order promptly and accurately do we charge your card.

If you are unhappy about keying in your card details, you can still place an order, then telephone or fax (numbers below) the card details to us.
