Meat Dish or Platter View Near Bristol c1825
Bristol Views Series, with various views along the River Avon, is the best known pattern from the Bristol Pottery of Pountney. Made first by Pountney and Allies and later by Pountney and Goldney. Backstamp: View near Bristol, River Avon. This fabulous dish is crazed with some associated light discolouration. There is a little wear and a tiny rub to the glaze on the outer rim and a small manufacturing fault under the rim. Overall really good.

Meat Dish or Platter Clifton c1840 Maker: Pountney  Pattern:Bristol Views Series
Meat Dish or Platter Clifton c1840
Bristol Views Series, with various views along the River Avon, is the best known pattern from the Bristol Pottery of Pountney. Clifton is now a suburb of Bristol, but in its day was fashionable for recreation and relaxation. Today it is more famous for its Gorge with suspension bridge. Made first by Pountney and Allies this platter has the typical horse shoe shape backstamp impressed Pountney and Goldney. This partnership operated the pottery from 1836 to 1849. There are a few minor glaze blemishes and knife marks, but this platter is as bright and clean as the day it was made. Lovely example from this popular series.

Drainer c1825 Maker: Pountney  Pattern:Bristol Views Series
Drainer c1825
Lovely drainer with an unidentified view of the River Avon. No backstamp. Crazed with some discolouration although the latter is mainly noticeable around the inner rim and on the back. There is just a little pitting around a couple of holes otherwise the face of the drainer is remarkably unscathed with barely a scratch to the surface.
