James & Ralph Clews worked the Cobridge Works, Staffordshire from 1818 until 1834. The popular Castle pattern printed here in an unusually dark blue. Backstamps: impressed round mark with Clews Warranted Staffordshire and containing a large crown. Blue printed seal mark with Clews and beneath Stone China. Condition is excellent. The glaze is sound and there is a little wear to the rim with a few tiny rubs and nicks, but barely noticeable.
