This is a most unusual piece, probably a muffineer or just possibly a sugar sifter. Lacking its top which may have been ceramic or indeed silver. There is as may be expected some wear and discolouration around the screw top and just a little around the shoulder, but over this in excellent condition. The backstamp is not quite as expected! Black printed Coalport England A.D. 1780 King's Ware. In 1925 Cauldon bought Coalport and in 1926 moved all production to their existing factory.
