Printed in a lovely shade of Mulberry this is a gorgeous jug. It has a gently moulded body rising to a wavy rim and an extremely ornate handle. There is a small area without glaze on the foot and there are some signs of age mainly to the handle and around the rim but overall it is really good condition. Backstamp: Cattle D & Co.

Made at the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales this is one of the loveliest rural scenes ever produced on china. Here on a large platter it may be viewed in its full splendour. The glaze is finely crazed and there are some knife marks on the face from use, with an occasional touch of light staining in the lines. Wear to the rim. Hang it on the wall or pop it on the dresser and you have a stunning platter. No makers backstamp. 20 impressed.

This design is usually attributed to Ridgways, but this brown and white jug with an ochre rim, is attributed to the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea. The version of Eastern Port made there had differences to the Ridgway one and the border in particular was quite different. No maker's backstamp. The glaze is crazed with some associated staining noticeable mainly from inside. It has a small chip to the base of the handle.

Superb dish in a lovely shape with a fabulous pearly glaze. Several makers produced Long Bridge pattern and it was a particular favourite of the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales, where several variants were made and used with different borders. The pattern and border on this piece match examples found marked Swansea impressed. No backstamp. There is some wear to the rim otherwise excellent condition.

Comport Hors d'Oeuvres c1800
What a find! Attributed to the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales. The only mark is an incised makers mark g. Long Bridge pattern is sometimes called Swansea Willow and this comport has the version of the pattern associated with Swansea plus the ochre enamel rims, which is typical Swansea decoration. 9 ins diameter and stands 3.75 ins high on stem and decorated foot 5.5 ins diameter. Does have a couple of rim hairlines, plus another very minor one, and a rim chip easily restored. The glaze is crazed and in places taken up some light staining. Despite these signs of age it really is a gorgeous piece of early pearlware.

Dinner Plate c1805
Long Bridge was made by several makers, but this example is from the Cambrian Pottery at Swansea, probably made in the days of the Haynes Dillwyn & Co. partnership. This design and specimen wares are illustrated in Swansea Blue and White Pottery by P D Bryce and S H Williams. This plate is pearlware and printed in Royal blue with an early charm to the engraving. The rim is ochre, also known as dull yellow or old gold, which is a feature of Swansea wares in this design. The glaze is finely crazed, with some staining on the back. A few signs of age, including a tiny rim chip at about 4 o'clock, otherwise good condition. Impressed backstamp Swansea. Provenance: The personal collection of Gresham Copeland, passing by descent to his son Robert Copeland. Collection identification label on back AGC 341. This plate is illustrated in Spode's Willow Pattern by Robert Copeland plate 3, page 118.

Also two collection identification labels Sir Leslie Joseph Collection Swansea No. P264 and Anthony Bunce Collection 18. Light all over crazing with a few scratches to the surface but overall superb condition.

The glaze is finely crazed and there is a small restored chip on the face of the rim at 2 o'clock and a restored nick at 11 o'clock, otherwise this is bright and clean and looks fine on display. No makers backstamp, only 14 impressed.

Illustrated are the remains of an ancient building near Foroz Shah's Cotilla near Delhi, which was illustrated in an aquatint in Thomas Daniell's Oriental Scenery. No maker's backstamp, only 18 impressed twice. There are a few minor utensil marks, but this platter is in superb condition, almost like new. A beautiful example from Cambrian Pottery.

This design also goes under the name of Chinese Washerwomen and sometimes Coffee Pot in the Window. There are two versions, this one with an exuberant palm tree and another where the palm is more stunted. It is usually attributed to Dillwyn of the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales and may have been the inspiration for Ye Olde Dillwyn Willow, introduced by Burgess & Leigh of Burslem in 1924 and now usually known as Burleigh Willow. The Burleigh Willow has similarities to this design, but there are significant differences, where the Burleigh engraver has introduced some of the key elements of traditional Willow pattern. No maker's backstamp, but impressed G for potter. Apart from some utensil marks and a few signs of wear on the rim, in excellent condition with sound glaze. Lovely plate.

Pap Boat c1840 Maker: Cambrian Pottery  Pattern:Seaweed
Pap Boat c1840
This pap boat is decorated with the Seaweed sheet pattern, which was used by Dillwyn at the Cambrian Pottery at Swansea and also at the nearby Ynysmeudwy Pottery. It has a bulbous body, drawn into a fine spout. There is no maker's backstamp, but from the style and pattern we have attributed it to Dillwyn. Under the spout is a minor firing crack and inside the rim a small rim chip, which has been glazed over, both would have occurred during manufacture. The rim has a few minor nicks and wear, mainly to the inside. The glaze is generally sound with just a few small patches of crazing, mainly underneath. Overall the boat is bright and clean.

There is no makers mark, but this stand is tentatively attributed to Evans and Glasson of the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales because of the impressed "Best Goods" a term used by them, but also by other potters. This is a good sized cheese stand which does have some crazing and areas of associated staining, which looks worse in the photograph than in real life.
