Maker: Dimmock Pattern:Morea Soup Tureen Stand c1845 This is the stand for a soup tureen but is a lovely piece on its own and is octagonal with two moulded side handles. Morea pattern is a series of different romantic scenes appearing on the various pieces. It is well recorded and usually shown as maker unknown, however, on the strength of having in the past had a platter with the impressed Dimmock monogram, we attribute pieces to Thomas Dimmock of Shelton and Hanley, Staffordshire active 1828 to 1859. Backstamp: blue printed cartouche with Morea and Stone China beneath. Some signs of wear mainly around the rim, otherwise good condition.
