Dessert Serving Dish c1825 Maker: Harvey  Pattern:Birds and Flowers
Dessert Serving Dish c1825
Originally one of the components of a grand dessert service this attractive two handled serving dish has a shallow foot rim. Items in this design have been recorded marked with HARVEY impressed, although there is no maker's backstamp on this dish. There was a sequence of various Harvey partnerships at Longton, Staffordshire and this piece dates from the C & J Harvey period 1818-1827. Strong cobalt glaze giving overall a slightly grey look, with the design printed in vibrant blues. Glaze is finely crazed and has taken up a little light staining. There are general signs of use and wear plus a couple of tiny under rim nicks with flakes off the foot rim. Overall bright and clean and look fine on display.

Basket with Stand c1825
Originally one of the major components of a grand dessert service this attractive oval pierced basket, sits on a similarly pierced stand. Items in this design have been recorded marked with HARVEY impressed, although there is no maker's backstamp on either piece. There was a sequence of various Harvey partnerships at Longton, Staffordshire and this piece dates from the C & J Harvey period 1818-1827. Strong cobalt glaze giving overall a slightly grey look, with the design printed in vibrant blues. The glaze is finely crazed on both pieces. There is a small under-rim chip on the stand and a chip on the rim of the basket, with another under the rim and a third inside the foot rim, otherwise both in excellent condition. Items in this design have been recorded marked with HARVEY impressed, although there is no maker's backstamp on this piece. There was a sequence of various Harvey partnerships at Longton, Staffordshire and this piece dates from the C & J Harvey period 1818-1827. Strong cobalt glaze giving overall a slightly grey look, with the design printed in vibrant blues. The glaze is finely crazed with a few small areas of associated light staining in the bowl, otherwise excellent condition.

Meat Dish or Platter Edinburgh c1825
Made by C & J Harvey of Longton, Staffordshire this rather rare series consists of 10 different views, of which this is one of the most charming with Edinburgh in the distance and Scottish figures in the rural foreground. Backstamp: blue printed ribbon and foliage cartouche with EDINURGH on the ribbon. The glaze is finely crazed, but still has a good shine to it, otherwise in excellent condition.

Made by C & J Harvey of Longton, Staffordshire. Lacks cover and stand. Attractive piece from this interesting series, with a view of the City of Worcester. Cheese Stand Dublin c1820
A wonderful stand showing the city of Dublin. Backstamp: blue printed cartouche with Dublin. The face of the stand has some surface scratching, a little pitting to the glaze and a touch of wear to the outer rim. The foot of the stand has a small chip to the rim and a larger one under the rim. All really quite minor as this is a beautiful stand, displaying an evocative city.

Plate c1825
Spode are believed to have been the first to produce this design in 1823. It was copied by at least five other makers and the original name was The Font or simply Font. This plate is by C & J Harvey of Longton active 1818 to 1827. Backstamp: Impressed HARVEY. A little minor surface scratching and it is crazed with some discolouration, although this is mainly on the back. Overall a fabulous plate.

Plate c1825
Spode are believed to have been the first to produce this design in 1823. It was copied by at least five other makers and the original name seems to have been The Font or simply Font. This plate is by C & J Harvey of Longton active 1818 to 1827. Backstamp: impressed HARVEY. Provenance: The personal collection of Gresham Copeland, passing by descent to his son Robert Copeland. Collection identification label on back AGC 410. The glaze is finely crazed in some areas and there is the lightest of associated staining in a small area on the face, but other more noticeable patchs on the back. The ring of the foot rim has a few minor knocks. Overall good condition and looks fine on display.
