Plate The Lion The Bear and The Fox c1835
This attractive plate was made during the Copeland & Garrett period 1833-1847. The Aesops Fables series was introduced in 1830 and the designs are taken from the illustrations in the 1793 edition of the Rev. The glaze is crazed, with a little light staining here and there, mainly visible on the back, where there is a faint star crack.
