Vases Pair c1890 Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern:Genevese
Vases Pair c1890
Lovely pair of vases decorated with the popular Genevese design of Swiss chalets and churches, which is usually associated with Minton, but it was made by at least four other makers. These vases are a challenge as the only backstamp is the word Genevese printed in blue in a slight curve. The engraving and printing are of good quality, but they are not by Minton and we hesitate to suggest a likely maker. The glaze is crazed on both vases, with a touch of light "age" staining, and one vase has a small chip and couple of nibbles to the foot rim. On display they both look fine and regardless of who made them they are most attractive and decorative items.
Dimensions: 23 cm high / 9 ins high
Our ref: MISC28154
