Meat Dish or Platter c1840
Fabulous dish, the pattern also known as Summerhouse on Rock. No backstamp. Light all over crazing with a little discolouration although this is mainly on the back. The face is remarkably unscathed and shines like new!

Attractive Chinoiserie landscape, well engraved and printed, with distinctive border design. No backstamp. The pattern name is an assigned one in the Transferware Collectors Club Database. It is also known as Summer House on Rock. Fine all over crazing with just a hint of discolouration, mainly on the back. Also on the back a tiny tiny nick and tiny manufacturing fault to the foot rim.

There appear to have been at least two different makers of this pattern, as on different pieces there are variations of detail in the design and the plate shapes are different. This plate has an indented rim and double foot rim. The pattern name is an assigned one in the Transferware Collectors Club Database. It is also known as Summer House on Rock. No maker's backstamp. Light crazing and on the back there is just a tiny flake of glaze missing, overall excellent condition.
