Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Pinwheels Meat Dish or Platter c1815 Minton, the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea and Thomas Harley produced this design and there may have been others. This platter is not Minton or Cambrian Pottery, so we have played safe and left it unattributed, although it clearly came from the hands of a potter of quality. The pattern is known as Pinwheels as some of the medallions resemble Catherine Wheel fireworks, known as Pinwheels in the USA. No maker's backstamp. Lovely bright white body and glaze, which is sound. Some utensil scratching to the face, a few rubs to the rim and a small rim chip on the back, not affecting the face. Overall an attractive early platter. Dimensions: 37 x 28 cm / 14.5 x 11 ins Our ref: 19CN41514 Buy similar now |

Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Pinwheels Plate pierced rim c1815 Pretty small plate with basket weave border and pierced rim. Minton, the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea and Thomas Harley produced this design and there may have been others. This plate is not Minton or Cambrian Pottery, so we have played safe and left it unattributed. The pattern is known as Pinwheels as some of the medallions resemble Catherine Wheel fireworks, known as Pinwheels in the USA. No maker's backstamp. A couple of small chips on the back of the rim. One of which has resulted in a short hairline running from the rim just into the bowl of the plate. The glaze is finely crazed, but bright and clean and on display it looks perfect.
