Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Willow blue with colour Jar 'Vinegar Prestonpan c1850 One part of a condiment set, usually attributed to one of the potteries at Prestonpan in Scotland, but also produced elsewhere and later versions were made. This chappie is an original from the 19th Century and he has had a life! He has a removable hat, which has been in three bits and restuck, with a couple of minor losses where the parts join. Two small areas at the bottom of the hat are missing, but these are largely invisible when it is place. Two small chips to the rim of his head, at the rear. Some minor flaking to the paint on his jacket and shoes. The base has been in four or fives bits and restuck. There is a chip in the left hand side of the skirt of the base visible in the photograph and a large area missing from the skirt at the back, about 1 ½” x ¾”, and a chip to the bottom rim. Sitting on the right height shelf he could look almost perfect! No maker's backstamp. Dimensions: 17 cm high / 6.75 ins high Our ref: WLPT28012 Buy similar now |

Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Willow blue with colour Toby Jug c1920s Whilst in the style of early 19th century originals this toby jug appears to date from the early 20th century and is a well executed copy of the original. His jacket is decorated in traditional Willow pattern. At some time in his life he would have held 1 pint of ale, now a superb decoration piece. Crazed and inside there is a little minor discolouration and a firing fault around the edge, overall lovely! Dimensions: 14 cm high / 5.75 ins high Our ref: WLPT21092 Buy similar now |

Maker: Unattributed Maker Pattern:Willow blue with colour Cruet Part Set c1910 Two of the four pieces, which would originally have made the set. Sometimes known as Prestonpans, these fellows are the pepper and open salt or perhaps mustard. both have some crazing. The pepper has a under rim chip to the stand. The salt or mustard (if the latter originally he would have had a hat)has two small rim chips both of which have been glazed over so presumably occured during manufacture. The colour has flaked off his jacket in a couple of areas - nothing major! Dimensions: 13.5 cm high / 5.25 ins high Our ref: WLPT22321 Buy similar now |
