James Wallace & Co of the Newcastle or Forth Banks Pottery, Newcastle upon Tyne, active 1838 to 1857 and thereafter as Wallace & Co made this lovely rural scene series. Backstamps: impressed Wallace and blue printed Rural Scenery.
Just a touch of wear to the inner rim and to the face otherwise excellent condition.

The glaze is crazed, but this is mainly noticeable on the back. On the face there a few small areas of light staining associated with the crazing, one of which is to the left and above the water wheel in the centre. Overall in good condition.

James Wallace & Co of the Newcastle or Forth Banks Pottery, Newcastle upon Tyne, active 1838 to 1857 and thereafter as Wallace & Co made this lovely rural scene series. This plate has a few knife scratches to the face, a white scratch in the print which occured during manufacture and there is a star crack where the bowl meets the border.
