Nantgarw Pottery Unidentified Pattern colour Jug or Pitcher c1840

Imperial: 1 pint, 5.5 ins high
Metric: 0.6 ltr, 14 cm high

An unusual moulded jug with an amorial design painted and highlighted with gilt. This is earthenware and from the later Pardoe period at Nantgarw. Backstamp: Nantgarw on a raised pad. This has two small chips to the spout, one of which has resulted in a tiny hairline. There is some wear to the gilt and some general minor signs of wear, but overall a lovely piece.
