Imperial: 4 pints 9 ins high
Metric: 2.3 ltr 23 cm
This is a lovely series of different lakeland scenes, which Masons used on a wide range of pieces. The view here is named Derwentwater, although it appears not to be the same as another view with the same name in this series. This ewer was made during the era of Charles James Mason & Co. from 1829 to 1845.
Backstamp: British Lakes above a crown and New Stone China beneath and then Derwentwater and C M & Co beneath that. It is rare to see C M & Co rather than C J M & Co.
There are a few minor blemishes and blue smudges to the ewer which will have occurred during manufacture. There is a nick off the glaze on the foot at the front. Otherwise a lovely ewer overall in excellent condition.
