Delightful rimmed soup plate. The scene depicts the Gate leading to a Musjed at Chunar Ghur, based on an engraving in Oriental Scenery by Thomas Daniell published in 1797. Chunar or Chunarghur is a town and ancient fortress in the district of Mirzapur in the United Provinces of India, situated on the south bank of the River Ganges. Backstamp: Impressed Rogers. A little minor surface scratching and wear to the outer rim overall excellent condition.
