Unattributed Maker Unidentified Pattern black Jug c1880 SALE PRICE 22

Imperial: 2.25 pint, 5.25 ins high
Metric: 1.35 ltr, 13.5 cm high

WAS 45 now 22. Printed in black with an allegorical design, on both sides, including the Odd Fellows coat of arms and the inscription Widows and Orphans of Independent Odd Fellows Manchester Unity. Formed in 1810 within the wider fraternal order the Manchester Unity is the largest grouping of lodges within the UK. Backstamp: Jno Williams, Castle St & Old Market Street, Bristol. Williams was a china wholesaler and retailer in Bristol during the 1880s. There are a few signs of wear mainly around the foot and rim and some black smudging. There is also restoration to the handle which looks at some time to have been broken off. Not for use but this is great for display and such an unusual piece.
