Imperial: 1 pint 5 ins high (to top of spout)
Metric: 0.6 ltr 13 cm high (to top of spout)
This is a rare shape of teapot made by Wood & Sons to a patented design registered by Abram Allware Ltd. Abram obtained patents for their teapots in 1922-25 and the Cosy name was also a registered trade mark. Apart from the shape of the pot, the novel features appear to be the fixing of the lid on the pot and the design of the gate, which is integral to the lid. The printed backstamp is mainly taken up with the registration and patent details for Britain, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain & Switzerland. Also retailers stamp: Made for Kirby Beard & Co Paris. Inside, the pot is crazed and very stained. The lid also has crazing and the part that slides inside the pot is stained and has a small hairline. Outside, although it has a few lines of crazing and just a touch of minor discolouration around the rim, it is still bright and clean.
